TRON
Just watched the original Tron motion picture in preparation for seeing Tron: Legacy. For a movie made in 1982 (three years before I was born!), it’s really good. Granted, the CG graphics look like they belong more in a 50’s diner poster, but it still got my attention. It is an immersive, well-made movie that can still engage your imagination after all these years.
All that is...

FOUND: Bedspacer
So psyched that I found a copy of Ely Buendia’s old “Wanted: Bedspacer” album. Digitally remastered, no less!
It didn’t click with the masses back then when it was first released (2001, was it?), before he left the Eraserheads, and it likely never will. While it has some songs that are similar to most of the material he wrote for the Eraserheads, it was more of an...
ADVENTURES IN PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION! EPISODE ONE!
Hot chick gets on and sits right next to me. Awesome! Then I start thinking. “Wait. I hope she isn’t actually a man.”

What I've Learned - Yoko Ono
Of the excellent “What I’ve Learned” series of ongoing articles that Esquire magazine continuously puts out, this one piqued my attention more so than the usual.
Is truth always positive? Of course. Once the truth comes out, you know, it’s all right. We’re scared that if the truth comes out that it’s not all right. It’s the other way around.
I think...

Premature Somnambulator
If there is one thing I’ve yet to learn, it’s to never celebrate prematurely. Should’ve known that the moment that I started sleeping like a normal human being, I was going to be sick (or already sick and just didn’t know it). Well, three days ago I started sleeping at around 9-10PM every night, and I thought “awesome”!
Today I realized I have yet another viral...

To put it another way: the new songs are very good songs, no doubt, but the older songs are just incredible (plus, the whole “Heavenly” album? The definition of perfect). I’ve also been lamenting the loss of Tower Records for the past few years. They’d always had a great selection of music from different countries, included an up-to-date selection of Japanese music. Then...

So I’m sticking with Tweetdeck for now. It’s better at helping me manage my twitter stream, and as for facebook… well, I pretty much just use the website itself.

To Hack A Mobile Phone
I’ve been looking around the interwebs for a new mobile phone to save up for lately, and among the ones I’m considering are either a brand new Nokia C6-01 or an older, maybe second-hand 5233 or 5800 that I can modify to my heart’s delight.
The first option is the easiest, but also the more expensive option. A new model can cost me Php16K-20K, depending on where I buy, but it...

There is a reason why I didn’t accept your friend request in the first place even though we have hung out a few times before but…
We were never that close
You’re feeling close

If I may add a few things: A rejected Facebook friend request is nothing personal. No one is morally obligated to accept that. It does not necessarily reflect on...

Dude. Tim Yap. Yapman. The PCSO never discloses the identities of lotto jackpot winners. You might have thought they’d have a good reason why they don’t do that. Oh wait. You didn’t.

Why Broadband Sucks Here in the Philippines, and...
In about a year of using SkyBroadband’s 1MBPs Plan, NOT ONCE have I ever experienced speeds even remotely close to that.
Before, I used PLDT’s myDSL, which was worse since they throttled the speeds of high bandwidth users, which is basically the equivalent of a complete and total douchebag move no matter what excuse they give. (Once you’re done with this post, here are a couple...
